Apple and pear intensity on this wine's nose seem to beam upward in a dense shaft of scent. The bold palate puts textural concentration center stage, with a pithy core and mouthwatering freshness that are buffered by the fruit. Compelling and just off dry, the wine makes no concessions to prettiness and seems like a message from profound earth instead. Drink by 2040. Anne Krebiehl MW
