Domaine Brusset 2019 Les Secrets de Montmirail (Gigondas)

Editors' Choice

Whiffs of anise, cocoa powder and fur lend savory complexity to gorgeously ripe, pristine black plum and cassis here. A blend of Grenache and Syrah matured in equal proportions of barrel and vat, it's intensely ripe but fresh and airy, framed by fine, silky tannins and a lovely crush of stony minerality. While stunning in youth, it's a wine that should improve through 2035 and longer likely. Anna Lee C. Iijima
