92pointsDomaine Chambeyron 2017 La Chavarine (Côte Rôtie)

Intensely granitic tones are juxtaposed by ripe, satiny black cherry and plum in this supple, rounded red. It's medium bodied but expansive on the palate, highlighting fresh black-fruit flavors edged by very fine, chalky tannins. Whispers of black pepper and fur accentuate the finish. Approachable in its youth, the wine is likely to gain perfume through 2027. Anna Lee C. Iijima
