Domaine Chante Cigale 2017 Extrait Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Peppery notes of anise, charred earth and bramble accent blackberry and raspberry flavors in this blend of 80% Mourvèdre and 20% Grenache. It's a smokier and a bit darker in fruit profile than Chante Cigale's tradition cuvée and structured by firm, squarely edged tannins that should meld as the wine improves over the next decade.
