Domaine Charles Baur 2015 Brand Grand Cru Riesling (Alsace)

A hint of beeswax envelopes ripe and rising notes of rich pear, creating an aromatic nose that suggests some evolution and ripeness. The palate of this wine comes in with a balm-like, smooth texture and hint of sweetness that boosts intense pear and peach notes. That beeswax note remains constant and counterpoints the fruit alongside the ripe, sunny freshness. The finish is dry. This wine is evolving beautifully and will continue for some years. Drink now–2035. Anne Krebiehl MW
