Whispers of fur, black pepper and clove lend sultry appeal to rich, ripe black currant. A glossy, moderately full-bodied blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre matured in 20% new barriques, it's intently fruit focused and anchored by a shock of fine, persistent tannins. Approachable now but should drink well through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
