Sourced from old vines planted in 1937 in a plot adjacent to La Romanée Saint Vivant, this powerfully ripe, deeply fruity red pulsates with roasted black-plum and cassis flavors. Matured in 50% new oak, it's rounded and spicy, muted by accents of cinnamon, char and leather. A slightly warming, muscular wine with tannins that are tight in youth, it should hit peak from 2025 and improve through 2035. Anna Lee C. Iijima
