Domaine de la Charbonnière 2017 Mourre des Perdrix Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Editors' Choice

The Mourre des Perdrix is the least expensive of Charbonnière's special cuvées, but often the most immediately hedonistic and fruit-focused. A perfumed blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Cinsault sourced primarily from sandy soils, it's a jubilant wild-berry swirl edged by fine, supple tannins. Irresistible young but concentrated enough to drink for a decade. Anna Lee C. Iijima
