Whiffs of burnt caramel and campfire accent penetrating blackberry and blueberry flavors in this ripe, warming blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. Matured nine months in barrique, it is pure in black-fruit flavors but deliciously charry and piquantly spiced too. Soft, furry tannins and hints of smoked hazelnut linger on the finish. Ready now, the wine should drink beautifully through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
