This perfumed gobsmacker offers all the unctuous, sun-drenched strawberry and cherry exuberance of Grenache juxtaposed by the smoky, spicy nuances of Syrah. It's a bold, fleshy wine but elegantly balanced too, lifted by a spray of red-currant acidity and fine, velveteen tannins. The finish offers a lingering note of burnt caramel. A stunner already the wine should improve through 2030 and hold further still. Anna Lee C. Iijima
