Domaine de Mourchon 2018 Grande Réserve Red (Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret)

Richer in mouthfeel and volume than this producer's more spry Séguret Tradition bottling, this 65/35 blend of Grenache and Syrah offers plump, almost ruddy, flavors of plum preserve and dried blueberries. Matured primarily in French oak, it's a softer, creamier red accented by hints of vanilla and toffee. Soft tannins make it welcoming young but it should hold well through 2026. Anna Lee C. Iijima
