Domaine de Saje 2016 1600 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

This Châteauneuf-du-Pape bottling is a rare blend of 62% Counoise augmented by a kitchen's-sink selection of various red and white regional grapes. It's ripe but elegantly restrained, offering brisk plum and cherry flavors accented by mineral and lavender notes. Full bodied and sleek but held upright by dense, grippy tannins, it's a juicy wine that offers longevity and structure too. Enjoy through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
