Domaine de Saje 2016 Marquis Anselme Mathieu Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Editors' Choice

There's refinement in this wine composed of 85% Grenache augmented by a field blend of 12 other red and white grape varieties. Whiffs of rose petal and cut minerals accent crisp black-cherry and blueberry flavors. It's a sleek, lusciously textured wine freshened by tart berry acidity and tense, penetrating tannins. It drinks gorgeously already but should improve through 2040 and hold further still. Anna Lee C. Iijima
