Domaine de Saje 2017 Marquis Anselme Mathieu Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Produced only in exceptional years and in limited quantity, this is a Grenache-dominant blend augmented by 12 other regional grape varieties, red and white, sourced from century-old vines. It's a plush, pretty sip pulsating with flavors of strawberry leather and raspberry preserves. Matured in old, neutral foudre for 14–16 months, it's accented by veins of crushed earth and bitter sage. At peak now–2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
