Domaine Divio 2017 Clos Gallia Estate Pinot Noir (Ribbon Ridge)

This estate bottling needed extra time to open up, and it has more astringency than the other 2017s from Domaine Divio. The black cherry fruit has a hard candy feel, and aging 14 months in 75% new French oak contributes a rich streak of caramel. More than the rest of the vintage's Pinots, this will require additional bottle age, or aggressive aeration. Paul Gregutt
