Layers of smoked nut, vanilla and caramel swaddle fresh yellow apple and pear in this very lavish oak-aged Marsanne. It's a full-bodied, richly textured wine that's pleasant in youth for its pert orchard-fruit flavors but has a concentration and density that suggests it should age even better. Approachable now but should improve through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
