Domaine du Grand Montmirail 2017 Cuvée Vieilles Vignes (Gigondas)

Cellar Selection

High octane but elegant and angular, this full-bodied blend of old-vine Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre offers pulsating blackberry and plum flavors etched by earth and tangs of salty minerality. Luscious but pertly balanced, it finishes on fiery, gripping tannins. Approachable now with a big steak, the wine should improve through 2030 and hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
