The nose of this Grenache-based blend (made from both red and white grapes) is subdued, hinting at crisp cassis and fresh mint. However, the palate penetrates with deep blackberry and black-plum flavors. It's a peppery, piquant wine edged by fine, furry tannins and some warmth on the finish. Ready now the wine is concentrated enough to drink well through 2022. Anna Lee C. Iijima
