Domaine Duclaux 2013 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Profoundly ripe but complex too, this Grenache-based blend offers juicy red cherry and dried-strawberry flavors shaded by smoked nut, earth and dried leaves. It's plush and creamy on the palate but lifted by a kick of red-currant acidity on midpalate. The moderately long finish lingers on fine, ripe tannins and a swirl of caramel. Enjoy now–2024.
