Domaine Fond Croze 2017 Red (Rasteau)

This is a big, hulking blend of Grenache (80%), Mourvèdre (10%) and Syrah (10%) sourced from 60-year-old vines. It's a full-throttled, luscious wine, but blackberry and cassis flavors are surprisingly fresh on the midpalate. Bold, penetrating tannins on the finish may require some aeration and time to meld.
