Domaine Grosset 2003 Cairanne Red (Côtes du Rhône Villages)

With its dry, dusty mouthfeel and moderate tannins, this wine clearly calls for some cellaring, but the ingredients for a successful evolution are there: balanced measures of tannins, alcohol, fruit and acidity. Leather, dried frruit and chocolate notes lead the way, followed by ripe black cherries and a hint of anise on the finish. Drink 2007–2012. Joe Czerwinski
