This Syrah (cofermented with 10% Viognier) offers penetrating cassis flavor accented by layers of thyme, charred earth and violet. Matured in a combination of French and American oak (50% new) for 12 to 18 months, the supple, richly concentrated wine has a spicy, lavishly smoky finish. A thoroughly modern expression of Cornas, it's approachable young but will likely show best from 2025 to 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
