Domaine la Garrigue 2017 Red (Vacqueyras)

Char and anise characterize this hulking, densely extracted Grenache blend. Preserved-plum and cassis flavors are luscious and mouthcoating but etched by peppery spice, tangs of minerality and firm, penetrating tannins. The wine is approachable now with a big steak but should improve and meld through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
