Domaine la Soumade 2017 Red (Rasteau)

Whiffs of dried thyme, sage and charred earth lend a savory balance to penetrating cassis and cherry flavors. A Grenache-dominant blend with Syrah and Mourvèdre, it's gorgeously primary in fruit character yet finessed and firm in structure, too. Gripping, almost fiery tannins should meld nicely through 2030.
