Hints of dusty earth and sun-scorched garrigue on the nose are juxtaposed by ripe, intensely extracted boysenberry and black fig in this unctuous blend of Grenache (50%), Mourvèdre (25%) and Syrah 25%. It's a massive, mouthfilling wine accented by spicy kicks of licorice and olive. Fine-grained but firm tannins should meld nicely through 2027. Anna Lee C. Iijima
