Domaine Lou Frejau 2017 Red (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

Dark, savory notes of dried plum and balsamic reduction accent this inky, cassis-inflected red. Grenache blended with six other regional grape varieties, it's a full-bodied, softly edged wine that's a touch muted in fruit but highlights earthier notes of granite and dusty mineral. Fine-grained, integrated tannins line the finish. Best enjoyed now–2024. Anna Lee C. Iijima
