Domaine Marcel Deiss 2015 Burg White (Alsace)

Ripe pear, rye bread and chalk take turns on the intriguing nose of this wine. The rounded palate offers generous and mellow notions of baked apple with hints of fresh lemon zest and heady Kirsch. There is heat and power here, but also depth and energy. This wine shines with freshness despite the honeyed, baked fruit richness at its core. The finish is off dry and long. Drink now–2040.
