Domaine Notre Dame des Pallières 2017 Bois des Mourres (Gigondas)

Cellar Selection

Penetrating layers of clove, tobacco and cinnamon envelop blueberry and cassis in this big, brawny red. Matured 10 months in French oak of various ages, it's a lavish, all-out blend of Grenache, Mourvèdre and Syrah framed by fine, feathery tannins. A bit unwieldy in its youth, the wine should mature beautifully through 2030 and hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
