Domaine Ostertag 2015 Barriques Pinot Gris (Alsace)

A spicy touch of ginger is just hinted at amidst the pear fruit that rises from the glass. The palate is taut but has a touch of vanilla, echoing the initial ginger. An edge of bitter pith contains the pear fruitiness and lends texture and interest. The finish is lasting and dry with the freshness of zesty citrus. Anne Krebiehl MW
