Domaine Pichat 2016 Champon's (Côte Rôtie)

While slender in profile, concentrated blackberry and cassis flavors reverberate through this piercing Syrah. It's smoky and perfumed, accented by hints of licorice, lavender and violet. Primary fruit and floral tones as well as ripe, integrated tannins are attractive now but the wine should improve through 2036. Anna Lee C. Iijima
