Domaine Pichat 2016 Löss (Côte Rôtie)

Cellar Selection

Pristine, cutting flavors of black cherry and cassis accentuate the focused, slightly linear feel of this wine. Made from 92% Syrah and 8% Viognier, it's ripe but restrained, edged by zesty acidity and a fresh, mineral tone. Chalky, mouthfilling tannins extend the finish. Wait to drink till 2022 at least. It should intensify aromatically and gain complexity through 2036 and hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
