Intensely ripe strawberry and red cherry preserves abound in this gobsmackingly plump blend of 55% Grenache, 25% Syrah, 15% Mourvèdre and 5% Cinsault aged primarily in large-format oak. At 16% abv, there's no doubt how massive this wine is, but somehow, it's not at all brooding or out of balance. Supple yet fresh in fruit and decidedly finessed, it's a wine that's ready now but should drink well through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
