Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2017 Roche Roulée Pinot Gris (Alsace)

Fruit concentration is apparent from the first whiff of this wine. Russet-pear peel seems charged with lemon rind and an aromatic edge of licorice. The palate relaxes into freshness kissed by a gentle, rounding sweetness. Flavors convey concentration and a sense of seriousness despite that dollop of sugar. The finish is almost dry and exquisitely balanced. Drink 2020–2040. Anne Krebiehl MW
