Domaine Zind-Humbrecht 2019 Roche Roulée Riesling (Alsace)

Aromas of forest floor and white pear flesh waft out of the glass, offering just a hint of petrol. This is a handsome wine, with perky acidity and white melon notes set against a backdrop of wet slate, lemon zest and evergreen trees. The finish takes an earthy turn, which only makes it feel all the more like you're in the forest or in the presence of a very tasteful cologne. As the long finish wears on, some of that white pear reappears. It invites you to keep sipping. Layla Schlack
