Dominio Dostares 2015 Estay Prieto Picudo (Vino de la Tierra de Castilla y Le贸n)

Earthy plum and berry aromas have plenty of oak in support, but also a rubbery note of latex and Band-Aid. This is Prieto Picudo, a lesser-known variety from Zamora in western Castilla y Le贸n. The palate is thick and compact, while this tastes of oak, rubbery black fruits and earth. A dry edgy tannic finish concludes this solid red from an esoteric grape variety. Michael Schachner
