Out of the blocks, this Cabernet from a difficult rain-plagued vintage feels sharp and angular. Bright acidity and raw tannins continue a theme of ruggedness, but it's filled out by flavors of blackberry, chocolate and herbs. While this is tough and prickly, it shows a lot of what makes Maipo Valley Cabernet highly regarded. Drink through 2026. Michael Schachner
