Inky purple in color, with a dense bouquet of bacon, coffee grinds and plum. The palate is grapey at first, while a textured but mildly tangy finish comes next. Fairly high-voltage and powerful, but not very elegant. Best for fans of thick, extracted reds. Michael Schachner
