Chardonnay is an extreme rarity in the valley, with this example coming from Kenny Hill Vineyard in the Mill Creek area. Aged in 35% new French oak and 15% concrete tulips, aromas of freshly peeled tangerine, citrus, ripe peach and honeysuckle lead to medium-bodied fruit flavors, with vibrant tangerine and stone-fruit notes on the finish. Much more reminiscent in some respects to a Viognier, it's a unique example of this variety and region that shows promise. Sean P. Sullivan
