Strike flint on flint and you'll get a smoky aroma remarkably similar to the bouquet of this wine. Too bad flint on flint won't generate this kind of sweet pear nectar, pineapple and stone-fruit flavors. It's sweet, but there's sufficient acidity to carry the sugar. —J.C.
