Dry River 2014 Pinot Noir (Martinborough)

Cellar Selection

This takes a little oxygen to open up but when it does it reveals a beautiful and regionally expressive nose of blueberry and plum fruit, cloves, earthy spices, streaks of stony minerals and a little toasty vanillin oak. The palate walks a tightrope of fleshy tangy fruit, focused acidity and linear chalky tannins. There's elegance and earthy complexity here amidst power and New World fruitiness. Despite having a few years under its belt, it's still very much in its youth and should cellar nicely. Drink now–2029. Christina Pickard
