Dunham 2005 Frenchtown Vineyard Syrah (Walla Walla Valley (WA))

This vineyard designate was last done in 2002; it's a big, meaty, blocky style, quite different from Dunham's Columbia Valley bottling. Bright raspberry fruit is layered in with cured meat, black olive, clove and smoke—there's lots to like here, especially if you enjoy Syrahs with a touch of funk. Paul Gregutt
