Durigutti 2017 Proyecto Las Compuertas 1914 Malbec (Luján de Cuyo)

Editors' Choice

The brothers Hector and Pablo Durigutti are making small-batch artisan wines in Las Compuertas, and this Malbec delivers the goods. A full, spicy nose with earthy black fruit aromas is rugged, gamy and anything but shy. A saturated palate borders on jammy, while this tastes of dark fruits, fine herbs and savory grilled beef. Meaty flavors and black fruit depth persist on a firm, compact finish. Drink through 2026. Michael Schachner
