Dutton-Goldfield 2011 Fox Den Vineyard Pinot Noir (Green Valley)

Editors' Choice

The interesting thing about this vineyard-designated Pinot Noir is that despite its immediate lusciousness, it also has the complexity to age—not a common combination. It's extraordinarily rich in strawberries, raspberries and pomegranate. Beyond the fruit is an earthiness that suggests mushrooms. The alcohol is refreshingly moderate, the acidity pinpoint perfect. The 2011 vintage is proving to be a great one for Dutton-Goldfield. Drink this wine now through 2023.
