The 2005 vintage produced whites in the Rhône that are more immediately accessible, though probably shorter-lived, than the 2004s. Guigal's 2005 Crozes features open, slightly floral aromas backed by some deeper bass notes. Delicate apricot and melon flavors spread elegantly across the palate, while there's a mineral edge to the persistent finish. Reasonably priced. Joe Czerwinski
