Eberle 2001 Estate Bottled Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon (Paso Robles)

Gary Eberle brings his deft touch to Cabernet, resulting in this smooth wine with soft tannins and an elegant dryness. It's forward in plummy, blackberry fruit, with an earthy, coffee edge. A minor quibble is the taste of raisins or shrivelled prunes are a detraction.
