The smokiness of oak is subtle but present on the nose. On the textured, smooth palate it is expressed as a faint note of hazelnut with the merest hint of vanilla. The body is sinuous and concentrated, countering the oaky notes with exquisite freshness and creating a textural synthesis of creamy yeast, sonorous oak and mellow fruit, all illuminated by freshness. Subtle, lovely, elegant. Drink by 2035. Anne Krebiehl MW
