A rustic-smelling nose is low on fresh, clean fruit and heavy on tarry notes of black olive and asphalt. Tight and tannic in feel, primarily along the edges of the palate, this Garnacha-Syrah-Carignan blend remains tarry and burnt on the flavor profile, with bitter chocolate and herbal accents. A leafy tasting, peppery finish fails to fully make up for the wine's weak spots.
