Edouard Delaunay 2017 Le Village Vieilles Vignes (Volnay)

A slight touch of reduction casts a promising, flinty shade onto this elegant wine that also shows red-currant freshness and smokiness on the nose. The palate comes though with pristine fruit that evokes both red currant and red cherry, vivid with freshness and alive with juiciness. A firm, slighty smoky veil of oak surrounds it while firm but ripe tannins support the succulence. Anne Krebiehl MW
