Eight Bells 2017 David's Block Red Willow Vineyard Red (Yakima Valley)

Editors' Choice

Fruit for this wine comes from a site designed by Master of Wine David Lake, with 10 clones of Cabernet Sauvignon and three clones of Cabernet Franc as well as other varieties. A blend of 59% Cabernet Sauvignon, 14% Merlot, 13% Petite Verdot, 9% Malbec and 5% Cabernet Franc, the aromas are immediately accessible and appealing, with notes of black currant, herb and cherry. The palate is pure, bright and flavorful, showing layering and texture. It's near irresistible now but has plenty of time in front of it. Sean P. Sullivan
