Elena Fucci 2019 Titolo by Amphora (Aglianico del Vulture)
Elena Fucci's ability to coax miracles out of the Aglianico that grows on her family's Titolo estate is well documented, but the move to aging in amphora for this bottling produces a wine with a quiet rumble that perfectly captures the volcanic terroir that produces it. Deep ruby red in the glass, it offers a subtle, savory nose and a palate that oscillates between biting and pliable, with notes that recall a hike up the side of the mountain, crushing violets and tripping over stones.
